The actor Chris Noth, known for being in “Sex and the City,” has talked openly to USA Today about the accusations of sexual assault made against him in 2021. He said he didn’t do anything wrong in that regard, but he did admit to being unfaithful to his wife.
He explained that he had cheated on his wife, which was very hurtful to her and not a good situation. He mentioned that he, like many other men, made excuses for himself, thinking it was just a harmless and enjoyable affair. He thought nobody would find out, and the attention was tempting.
In December 2021, Chris Noth, who is known for his roles in TV shows, was accused of sexually assaulting two women. After that, three more women came forward with similar claims in the following weeks. Because of this, the company that represented him and the show he was working on let him go. He was also taken out of a scene in another show he was part of. In a statement he made in December 2021, Noth said the accusations were completely false. He also wondered why these stories were coming out at that specific time and said he didn’t know the exact reason, but he was sure that he didn’t assault the women.
“I can’t really change anyone’s opinion in the face of such a big wave,” Chris Noth shared with USA Today. “If I try to defend myself, it might sound like I’m making excuses, which I’m not. There’s no criminal court or trial where I can explain my side, bring in witnesses, or clear things up. Some of the claims are even more unbelievable and completely untrue. I don’t like talking about it because it might get twisted in the media, and I don’t want my kids to see that.”
“I won’t just give up and say it’s the end,” he continued. “The story is shocking but it’s not accurate. I can’t let this stop me because I’m an actor with creative goals and I need to support my children. I can’t just sit back. I could take a break for a year, but I’m uncertain about rejoining the industry since companies are cautious.”
Noth is trying to make a comeback by becoming the new face of Samuelsohn, a custom suit company. They are including him in their campaign to raise awareness about men’s mental health.
